The SAS Centres have recently announced that they will be withdrawing
urinary aldosterone assays as an SAS service with effect from this April.
This has come as a slight shock to our local endocrinologist who felt that
it still had some role as a diagnostic test. Is this no longer a valid
point-of-view? Is there anyone else left in the UK who will still be
providing this service if we fail to convince him that this is now an
obsolete test?
