Dear Colleagues,

Information Skills in Practice:
Findings from the Big Blue

Information skills seems to be the topic on everyone's lips, but what are
people doing about it?

The Big Blue is a JISC-funded project which, over the last 12 months, has
surveyed the provision of information skills training for students in the
higher and post-16 education sectors. Drawing on the results of an audit,
review of the literature and case studies the Information Skills Toolkit
has been devised to provide guidance and ideas on key aspects of
information skills training.

Want to find out more? The come along to a free half-day event to be held
at Manchester Metropolitan University on 21 June, between 10.00am and
1.00pm.

There will also be a chance to hear how the University of York has tackled
this issue through the Iliad (information Literacy in All Departments)
programme.

Other events will be held including one tailored for those working in the
post-16 sector at Thomas Danby College, Leeds, on 11 July and a joint event
