GIS/Database Position at ABP Marine Environmental Research Ltd ABP Marine Environmental Research Ltd specialises in hydraulic studies of the built and natural environment. Based in purpose-built facilities in Southampton, we provide consultancy services in the water environment including coasts, rivers and hydraulic structures for a wide range of clients. Our specialist services include extensive physical and numerical modelling and site investigation capabilities. We are currently seeking to recruit a GIS/Database specialist to join the Data Team. The team deals with a great variety of work in the fields of GIS, Data Management and other IT related topics, combined with a range of subjects such as environment, coastal protection, port design, flood risk, etc. Main tasks will include the implementation and development of GIS and database applications, with spatial data analysis and data capture management. Specialists will be expected to have a degree in GIS or closely related subject and experience in working with at least one GIS package, preferably ArcView, and knowledge of Visual Basic. Candidates will need verbal and written communication skills as direct client liaison will be expected. Experience in project management would be advantageous.
