POSITIVE APPROACHES TO NEGATIVE PERFORMANCE
6 February, London

Poor performance will have a detrimental effect on any organisation. It can
undermine the morale and motivation of staff, and is likely to damage
relationships with customers.

However, dealing with negative performance is not easy.

This workshop is designed to help participants deal with 'poor performers'
for whom they are responsible. It explores techniques for turning poor
performance around, and also looks at what action should be considered
should poor performance continue in spite of these efforts.

BY THE END OF THE EVENT PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE:
* explored how to set and implement clear standards of performance
* looked at strategies and sanctions for improvement
* identified different techniques for dealing with difficult behaviour
* discovered how to manage disciplinary action and the law
* developed an individual action plan

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Senior library and information staff who are responsible for the work of
others.

WORKSHOP LEADER: John Hudson, Consultant, Hudson Rivers
John is experienced in the development and delivery of management and
commercial training and in a wide range of personnel practices and leads
Hudson Rivers' work in communication and interpersonal skills.
