In the true EUROTALK spirit of sharing useful information, I pass on this
tip, from a reader in Scotland, which I found in the Times travel section
this Saturday (December 1st):
"A euro is currently work about 62p, almost exactly 5/8th of a pound, while
a kilometre is about 5/8th of a mile. So if you are driving in Europe from
next January you can use the speedometer in a British car to work out euro
conversions.. For example, £50 equals 80 euros, while 50 mph is 80
kmph."
Happy travelling!
