i must yield to Tom.

Andreas is certainly the most important saint, state-wide, and constantly in
need of propitiation. all the others are just local cults of no particular
significance.

(for the californiac-impaired: the San Andreas fault, which runs north-south
through most of the state, is one of the most active earthquake-prone regions
on the planet and, someday soon, the whole state will be riven along it, the
western bit --L.A. to Sillycone Valley-- floating out to sea and sinking like
a stone.)

wonder how the fault got its name --after a town along it or what?

best from here,

christopher
