King's College, Cambridge, wishes to appoint a Junior Research Fellow (a
faculty level position), up to two Postdoctoral Associates and two
graduate students to work in the field of Art History, with a specific
interest in visual culture. The successful candidates may work in any
period, but will be expected to collaborate with other scholars working
in an interdisciplinary manner under the general heading of
'description'. The successful candidates will be members of King's
College and will be expected to take a full part in college life.
Although these are research posts, teaching opportunities will be made
available and are encouraged. The basic salary of the Fellowship is
14,883-19,114 GBP (pounds) per annum, according to age and academic
qualification; the Fellowship may be held for up to four years from 1st
October 2002. The basic salary of the Postdoctoral Associate is GBP
15,000 (pounds) per annum. The Postdoctoral Associate position may be
held for up to two years from 1st October 2002. Candidates may apply for
a Fellowship or a Postdoctoral Associate position or both. Subsidised
accommodation may be available in college. The graduate Studentships (up
to £1,000 research expenses per annum) may be held for up to three years
from 1st October 2002 and are intended for graduates who already have
funding.

The Department of History at Mount Allison University invites
applications for a tenure-track position in Medieval history, subject to
budgetary approval. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a
survey course on European history to 1700, as well as upper-year courses
on more specialized topics in Medieval history. Applicants should have a
Ph.D., undergraduate teaching experience, and a demonstrated commitment
to research and publishing. The appointment will be made at the rank of
Assistant Professor and will commence on July 1, 2002. The 2001-2002
annual salary range for Assistant Professor is CAN$45,063 - CAN$63,890
(subject to collective bargaining).

The department of History and Geography at Morgan State University
invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in World
History and British History to begin August 2002 pending budgetary
approval. Requirements include a Ph.D. with a clear research
specialization in either World History or in British history, teaching
experience preferably at a minority or urban institution, and a
demonstrated potential for scholarly activity. The standard teaching
load of twelve undergraduate credits will include general education
courses in World History and advanced undergraduate courses in British
history. 

For fullest consideration, all items should be received by December 3,
2001. Preliminary interviews will be conducted at the AHA meeting in San
Francisco, January 2002. Morgan State University is an AA/EOE.
