Temporary Historic Buildings Records Assistant

(Temporary appointment for 12 months)

£12618 - £13500p.a.

A temporary one year post has been created to help with the upgrading and development of the Nottinghamshire Historic Buildings Record (HBR). This record includes information on all listed and other historic buildings and conservation areas in the County and is closely linked to the Sites and Monuments Record (SMR). The post offers an excellent opportunity for new and recent graduates or other suitably qualified and experienced candidates who wish to embark on a career in buildings conservation.

Based at Trent Bridge House, West Bridgford, Nottingham, you will need to have a Degree or equivalent in buildings conservation, architecture or archaeology, and be experienced in use of databases, GIS and word processing packages. You will need to have awareness of the HBR and/or SMR and have a good general knowledge of the architectural history of England. Good organisational skills and logical working and the ability to interpret from a wide variety of sources including maps are amongst the aptitudes we are looking for.
