*** FINAL CALL ***

*** RESEARCH IN THE WORKPLACE AWARD 2001 ***

Organised by the LINC Health Panel Research and Horizon
Scanning Group, the Research in the Workplace Award 2001
(RIWA 2001) aims to encourage and facilitate research activity by
health librarians or information specialists. Projects can relate to
any aspect of service provision, development or theory, and the
award fund of £2,250 can be used to defray equipment costs,
consumables, buy-out time or purchase technical support.

To be eligible for the award, the lead applicant must be employed
in a health library or information service for at least 17.5 hours a
week, be a member of one of the sponsoring organisations (details
below), and the award fund must constitute at least 55% of the
overall project funding.

So, if you have an idea for a small work-based research project, but
limited research experience, or if you need funding to enable you to
achieve your research, then RIWA 2001 could be for you.
Interested?

For further details, or to discuss your research idea prior to
submission of your application, please contact your regional NHS
librarian or call Maria J Grant, Chair of RIWA 2001 on 0161 295
0454. Email: [log in to unmask] Web site:

I look forward to receiving your application.

*** Closing date: 30th November 2001 ***
