LECTURER /SENIOR LECTURER in INFORMATION SYSTEMS (REF
981/01)

IDPM (http://www.man.ac.uk/idpm) is a multi-disciplinary
department within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law
providing a range of postgraduate-only training, research and
consultancy activities in Manchester and overseas in the field
of international development and management.

We are seeking a lecturer to work within our Information
Systems group. S/he will teach on our growing MSc in
Management and Information Systems, and other postgraduate-
level courses; and will undertake research on information
systems and development and/or information systems in the
public and NGO sectors.

wide variety of countries and backgrounds; from the high level

multi-disciplinary environment to both our clients and our
staff.

The successful candidate should ideally: be educated to
Masters level or above with a track record of teaching in a
relevant topic area; have a track record of research and
publication in information systems; be familiar with the
realities of implementing and managing computerised
information systems; have direct experience of IS in
developing countries through development, use or research;
approach IS from a socio-technical rather than technical
standpoint; have the ability to undertake relevant consultancy
assignments; and be flexible, innovative and customer-focused
in their approach to work.  Candidates who are relatively weak
in one or two areas may be considered if they are strong in
others.

Salary scale Lecturer A £20,267 - £24,193 per annum, Lecturer
B £25,203 - £32,215 per annum.  Exceptionally, the post may
be offered on the Senior Lecturer scale £33,820 - £38,221 per
annum.  Appointment will be made according to relevant
qualifications and experience.
