Yes! Since March 2001 we've re-directed all calls for general medical advice from A&E to NHSD. So far 100-200 calls/month. Previously this was not only a sizable piece of work but also a considerable clinical risk as anyone from Consultant to student nurse was dishing out advice to all and sundry. Now I personally can't believe that all these folk were told to attend A&E!
