Dear All,

I liked the BBC Working Lunch offering on Insolvency: I thought their follow
up discussion/question page was their best yet. Hence, my enhancement, he
said modestly, isn't a full worksheet. I've added a set of resources to go
with it: some questions, some activities and some additional materials. I
have used a few resources to go with my page and have included links there,
too.

I was hoping to use Just Tyres' own financials to use in my offering but it
looks like one of the costs that their Receiver pulled was their ISP charges
... it's a dead link. If anyone has this information I'd happily receive it
and work it in. I did find a tiny scrap of info on the size of the company
from another source: the students have to find it as part of an activity!
Even www.ft.com didn't have anything.

For anyone who reads my book reviews, I've added a couple recently, today's
offering relates to a book of short stories by Jay McInerney.

I volunteered to try to help the Financial Director of a UK based logistics
company as he desperately sought to teach his fellow managers what an
adverse variance means! He wanted something that would have taken days to
accomplish; but I set out a few simpler ideas more or less under the heading
of using graphs to communicate. I used a thermometer chart, a graph free
graphic and a couple of others; I also used IF statements, conditional
formatting and such like, for spreadsheet wallahs.

Finally, in case you missed it, I put my Church & co plc case study into pdf
format and enhanced it with some snazzy graphics. This case is a couple of
years old; but it's stood the test of time.

I picked up a marketing tip for Webmaster this week, so my link just says
that you should just go to http://www.duncanwil.co.uk and follow the
relevant links to book reviews, spreadsheets, business and pdf downloads.

Maybe it's worth mentioning that my Site Search Engine is updated every time
I update the site. I have tied an update reminder to my home page for anyone
who can't wait for Sunday/Monday to find out what I've been up to ... I
sometimes update during the week too you know.

My site now has over 100 pages for you to get your teeth into and the number
of visitors I've been getting since I moved over to my new address is
increasing at a phenomenal rate.

If you're going back to work after a week off, enjoy it. If, like me, you
aren't, sorry for that!

Best wishes

Duncan
