...with apologies for any duplicate postings: Sheffield Hallam University School of Engineering Research Fellows/Assistants in Product Life Cycle Management (2 posts) Temporary up to 31/8/04 up to #21,800 per annum Two researchers are required to join the life cycle design group in the School of Engineering to work on a EU-funded project on environmental life cycle information management. One post (ref 307)involves developing analytical life cycle models of products in the market using statistical techniques, as well as work on product life cycle data issues and co-ordination of EU project partners. The second post (ref 308) involves environmental life cycle assessment of "internet appliance" systems, work on product-service systems and development of design guidelines for such systems. Applicants should have a good first degree in engineering, design, management or an appropriate subject and preferably a higher degree. Experience of collaborative research projects and/or industrial practice is desirable. Excellent communication skills are needed and the ability to work independently and take initiatives. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in environmental issues. Part-time work is possible.
