This advert appeared in today's Guardian newspaper: Research Assistant Putting e-commerce in its place: constructing electronic times and spaces An enthusiastic researcher is required to work alongside Professor Andrew Leyshon, Professor Nigel Thrift, Dr Shaun French and Dr Louise Crewe on a new ESRC-funded project investigating the construction of e-commerce as a practice, with particular reference to the music, fashion and retail financial services industries. The post is for a fixed-term of 18 months, starting on November 1st 2001, and includes the possibility of undertaking research in the United States. You should hold, or have submitted, a PhD and Ideally should have experience of arranging and conducting corporate interviews, and of other qualitative research methods. Knowledge of e-commerce or the music or fashion retailing industries is desirable, but not essential. Joining a vibrant research community at the School of Geographical Sciences, Bristol, you will also work closely with the senior researcher and other members of the research team at the School of Geography, University of Nottingham.
