I don't know how many answers you got to your question about kids' web sites. I just signed up to join the LIS-PUB-LIBS mailing list. There are many great sites at http://www.ala.org/parentspage/greatsites. It claims to have 50+ web sites for kids and parents. Especially of interest would be Crayola at www.crayola.com and www.pilkey.com. I believe all of the sites listed are educational sites in the USA. Hope this helps.
