Counsellors with some philosophical background interested in integrating philosophical ideas into their work, or in engaging in a purely philosophical form of counselling may benefit from attending this workshop. Philosophical counselling uses philosophical methods and insights to help individuals reflect on their lives generally as well as deal with specific issues such as meaning crises, relationship issues, and career dilemmas. This year's philosophical counselling course is being held in two parts, on Aug 18th and Nov 23rd-25th 2001. Please see below for full details - please book your place as soon as possible by e-mailing [log in to unmask], as spaces are strictly limited and there is a £10 reduction for bookins before Aug. 1st The SPP may in the future run workshops purely on how counsellors can integrate philosophical ideas and methods into their work (for example in values clarification, decision-making or understanding the emotions). These future courses would be suitable for people without a philosophical background as well as those with it (unlike the current course, which is for those with some philosophical background). If you are interested in attending such a future workshop, again please e-mail [log in to unmask] to be put on our mailing list.
