The purpose of these prizes is to contribute to the advancement of medical sociology by supporting postgraduate research in medical sociology leading to a higher degree. We expect to award three or four prizes. The prize is normally used for fieldwork, travel, expenses and / or attendance at a specialist course. Postgraduate students should submit a proposal of not more than 800 words and a supporting letter from their supervisor. The closing date is August 31 2001. In previous years, we have had few applications, so please encourage any postgrads to apply.
