For thirty years he visited the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna every second day, sitting in front of the same Tintoretto painting. In Alte Meister, adapted from a novel by one of Austria's major writers, four biographers fight to understand their dead hero. As they squabble and compete they study Mr Reger's grandiose speeches about Art and Nature, Life and Death, Heaven and Hell, Happiness and Depression, Austria and the rest of the world… The Vienna Burgtheater The Vienna Burgtheater is one of the world's great theatre companies. It rarely tours - astonishingly this visit marks its British debut. This short residency offers the opportunity to experience two recent productions which demonstrate at least some of the range of this great company. This and Luc Bondy's production of Chekov's The Seagull.
