Given the lack of investment by New Labour in HE with inevitably
consequences for staff pay and conditions and New Labour's imposition
of student fees, I'm going to be suggesting at the next union meeting
in my institution that NATFHE directs its political funds away from
Labour and towards one of the parties that advocate increasing public
spending on education: the Socialist Alliance, the Greens or the Lib
Dems.  I wouldn't want to advise you how to vote, Nick, but the above
are some pretty good options!
