London's Museums, Archives and Libraries
"Learning about London" Research Project
TWO Consultant Researchers
June-December 2001 (fixed term contract)

April 2002 will see the creation of a Learning Support Unit (LSU) to help
all London's museums, archives and libraries develop appropriate high
quality learning opportunities. To ensure that the Unit is relevant to the
needs of organisations in all three domains, Resource is funding a 7 month
research project, "Learning about London". This will map the current
learning provision in London's 1500+ museums, archives and libraries, assess
the key areas in which support is needed, and identify the structure and
work priorities for the Unit's first three years of operation.

London's Museums, Archives and Libraries (LMAL) are now looking for two
consultant researchers to carry out this work. Applicants should have
* proven research and market research skills (including data
collection and analysis, and focus groups)
* good oral and written communication skills
* the ability to create and work with databases
* an education background or a good working knowledge of learning in
at least one of the three domains, preferably including archives or
libraries

A fee of £8000 per researcher is offered for the work.
