We are especially interested in candidates who have a background in social and political philosophy. Faculty in the department do a great deal of interdisciplinary work in collaboration with colleagues in our own college, The College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities, as well as with the four other colleges of the University. The Robert J. Rutland Center for Ethics Across the Campus and the Community, which is housed in the department, is responsible for the Ethics Across the Curriculum program as well as ethics outreach activities. Preference will be given to candidates who have an interest in contributing to the department’s interdisciplinary work and actively participating in the activities of the Rutland Center. Excellence in both undergraduate teaching and scholarship is essential. Ph.D. prior to appointment. Candidates should submit all application materials as soon as possible.
