Dear Judith,

It first appeared as 'Sons of the Widow' in The Scots Observer, No7, 26 April
1890.

Its firrst appearance in book form under this title was in Departmental
Ditties, Barrack-room Ballads and Other Verses,
U.S.Book Co., New York 1890.

As 'The Widow at Windsor' it first appeared in Barrack-Room Ballads and Other
Verses,
Methuen, London, March, 1892.
