My thanks to everyone who has replied. All of the replies were on list so I won't repeat them. But, the gist is development in the 1880s (Siemens and Heroult) and 1st industrial production 1902-06. The latest book I had was Greenwood (1902). He mentions electric furnaces a couple of times. Again Thanks Jamie Brothers
