Conference Objectives

The objective of this conference is to bring together a wide range of academics and practitioners from a variety
of international disciplines and backgrounds to explore the issues surrounding the preservation, management,
utilisation and consumption of trees and their products. The conference is unique in terms of its
multidisciplinary approach, challenging the traditional separation and polarisation of values attached to trees
and forests; the orientation of their management, perception of their sustainability and ultimate usage.
This philosophy is central to the principle of sustainability, promoting and stimulating cross-sectional
approaches in designing holistic responses to effect the diverse demands attached to trees and forests
 internationally.
