HI. Walker et al (APTA, year?) attempted to demonstrate Cyriax' notion re alignment of fibers in rabbit's tendons following controlled lesions. Theory not supported (as are not many of the capsular patterns, other paprers JOSPT). Never the less, it does work. We need to find new theories: ? counterirritant; Mu factors ; pain threshold; C-fiber inhibition in adjacent regions. Who knows. The critical factor: tissue diagnosis & function following tissue mobilization. Joe
