Lecturer / Research Fellow in Epidemiology / Health Services Research


We are seeking an enthusiastic epidemiologist / health services researcher to join the Clinical Effectiveness Unit, a collaboration between the leading professional and academic institutions in England in the field of surgical epidemiology and audit.  The unit plays a key role in shaping and guiding health services research in surgery in the UK.

The candidate will be required to develop and support projects on quality of surgical care, clinical effectiveness of surgical procedures, and guideline development for surgical practice. The post requires a background in epidemiology, statistics, or quantitative social science.

There is an excellent opportunity to work in partnership with surgeons in a wide-range of studies across the breadth of surgical practice.  The successful candidate will work alongside researchers who have a strong background in quality improvement, service delivery and organisation, health technology assessment, and measurement of clinical outcome.

The post is a full-time appointment until 28 February 2003.
