Why does a DGH have a helipad and a centre of cardiac thoracic etc not have
one... Thats an easy one - there is no where to place a helipad in the
specialist centre.

The hospital concerned has been developed over many years in the centre of a
city.

When it was recently extended there were ideas of having it on the roof, but
between the local residents complaining about the concept and the Campaign
Against Aviation (oops sorry) I meant the Civil Aviation Authority it was
shelved. Otherwise the majority of multi system trauma etc would
automatically be flown into the centre rather than a DGH 15 miles away.
