HIGHER EDUCATION RESOURCES COLLECTION OPEN VISITS - 15TH MARCH AND 17TH
MAY 2001

LOCATION: CILT RESOURCES LIBRARY, 20 BEDFORDBURY, LONDON WC2N 4LB. A map
of CILT's location can be found at: http://www.cilt.org.uk/where.htm

This free event running on a choice of two dates provides an opportunity
for staff in HE to be updated on the activities of the Subject Centre
for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies and the Centre for
Information on Language Teaching and Research (CILT).

There will be opportunities for staff to discuss their own needs in the
light of the Subject Centre's current activities and needs analysis
survey, and to find out about recent changes to A-level courses.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit the HE Resources
Collection housed within the CILT library in Covent Garden. The
collection includes material related to language teaching and
methodology, and a wide range of relevant teaching materials such as
software, audio and video materials, course-books developed specifically
for use in the HE context, teaching materials for languages for specific
purposes and FDTL project outputs. The library also holds a collection
of over 400 journal titles.

* In additional to audio-visual and study facilities in other parts of
the library, the HE area has a dedicated open study facility with room
