With apologies for cross-posting: BMA LIBRARY & ScHARR CRITICAL APPRAISAL SKILLS WORKSHOP BMA HOUSE, TUESDAY 26 JUNE 2001 Critical appraisal has developed from being merely a method of instruction in medical school to a practical lifelong learning skill required by all medical practitioners. It is now a component of many membership examinations and equips individuals for involvement in many features of evidence based practice. The objectives of this day are to provide an intensive overview of the skills and resources available for critical appraisal and to provide ideas on how these might be utilised upon return to the workplace. This day will act as a natural "taster" for the week-long courses offered throughout the UK while being self- contained for those who simply wish to master the basics of this increasingly popular technique.
