it might be that if the night was 11 hours  ( 2100 -0800) or something
similar , that's three consultant 'sessions' isn't it ( 3.5 hours per
session ) so 3 sessions at locum rates and it's unsocial too ? = large
quantities of beer tokens!

also if the way Medical locum rates go up because of things like unsocial or
weekend working in the way that Nursing Agency rates do ( 20- 30 gbp/hour
for specialist qualified  RNs at night from some agencies, that's a 250 gbp
night for an RN)
