Dear Dr. Sood, Your question is very interesting. My first thoughts, as "raw" as they can be when I haven't reflected upon are: 1- Right side - Left hemisphere. The left hemisphere, as V.S Ramachandran says, "preserves the status quo". It has the tendency to use defense mechanisms when something new shows up. 2- Right side - Dominant side. It is usual the dominant side in term of use for most activities such as writing, eating ... 3- Right side - Protective side ? I have noticed that under stress (concious or not conscious, physical or emotional)my patients show a kind of higher tonus on that side, almost something "retracting" or "spastic" as other would say. I think that there is much to analyse about our right side - or left hemisphere. I would be interested to hear also what others thin. Kind regards, Noemi --- "Dr. S.C.
