For the introduction of mammals , wild or domestic, to Ireland look in The Quaternary History of Ireland, edited by Edwards & Warren, 1985. I wrote an article in this book on Littletonaian faunas (pp 233-249) where I mention the introduction of cats in the first centuries AD. There is however little firm evidence for this statement.
