Patricia (et al) In my previous job (Western Colleges Consortium for on-line learning) I gained an interesting insight into many of the pitfalls of implementing a VLE. Partly as a result of that in my new job at the JISC the MLE Steering Group initiated the production of the JISC MLE Information pack - which covers all the sorts of issues you need to take account of in its pages. While this has been sent to colleges (in two separate mailings) it can also be found at http://www.jisc.ac.uk/mle/reps/infopack.html. It is certainly a good starting point.
