Richard- You could ask Q. Bone at Plymouth. We worked together on various
pelagic tunicates and he did all the em work and would know how many cells
there are in doliolids and larvaceans.  Pyrosomes have the usual 7 rows
(Mackie, G.O. and Q. Bone.  1978.  Luminescence and ciliary control in
Pyrosoma.  Proc. Roy. Soc. B. 202:  483-495.) Interesting about
Jaekelocarpus.  George
