Dear SPMers:

I am uncertain about how to do a conjunction analysis with SPM99 on our fMRI study. I have 12 subjects. The design is as follow

Run 1: ADADAD...
Run 2: BDBDBD...
Run 3: CDCDCD...

A, B, and C are different tasks and D are fixation point served as rest condition.
I would like to find the common areas activated by A, B, and C relative to D. Is it viable to do a SPM99 conjunction analysis among A-D, B-D, and C-D? If not, what is the best model to do the analysis?

I know that the implementation of conjunctions in SPM has changed from SPM96 to SPM99, and the contrasts for SPM99 conjunction analysis need to be orthogonal. I searched the SPM e-mail archives, but could not find a clear answer.

I greatly appreciate any suggestion and direction on this issue.

Sincerely,

Yun Dong
