hi, i just installed matlab 6.1 and spm99b on our new box, 8 ultrasparcIII 750 processors, 16GB ram, fast local disks. the first tests with spm were very disappointing. i realigned a data set with ~300 planes and it took ages about 6-8times as long as on a pIII-1000 laptop. especially file io took ages. a single file is 128kB large and takes 2-3 secondes to write (normally i see 80-100MB/s on those disks). any hints where i can tweak performance to improve this situation? cheers, bernd
