This very young man, (teenage and still at school), has promised that more
than farmers will benefit from the medal he has designed. He lives not far
from the Lizard Peninsula in St Austell, Cornwall, already £5000 has gone to
local 'victims' and this includes several businesses as well as farmers.
From the reports, and interview, I have seen he seems to have a very genuine
desire to help all those who have suffered as a result of the disease.
Local news reports here, in the S. West yesterday, announced there are
still four reported cases of Foot and Mouth a day.

P.S. Devon and Cornwall are OPEN to tourists - so any of you could help by
spending a few days in the kind of hotel Michael mentions. We locals are
enjoying it down here at the moment though because as well as no dead sheep,
cows or pigs there are hardly any emmets in sight either!
