Can I suggest that if people are going away for a holiday or whatever
that they unsubscribe themselves from the list to prevent this
autoresponse circuit?
I didn't do this and have just got back to find it has taken nearly half
an hour to download all of Nic Hawes autoresponses - thank God I didn't
set one up too!

Those of you who complain about autoresponders may be interested to hear
that a N Hawe from the Cancer Research Campaign autoresponded to this
message when posted to the Young Science Communicators group.
Unfortunately, his auto-response went to the group, not to the original
author. N Hawe then autoresponded to his own autoresponse - and so on,
with a new mail generated every two minutes. After 450 or so mails,
someone emailed the list to complain - to which N Hawe also
autoresponded. He is now sending two mails every two minutes.
800 mails and counting - it could be a long bank holiday weekend!
