DeKooning's late canvases, which I saw at MOMA a few years ago, were--dare I say?--"feminine" in their use of pinks & greens. And as someone else has pointed out, very curvy. It's said that he was in the early & mid- stages of Alzheimer's when he painted them. We should all be so blessed by the gods. As for the misogyny of some of his work, it is at least a true picture of a certain attitude & is a painting that exhibits misogyny for the viewer's inspection necessarily misogynist? jd ====================== Joseph Duemer School of Liberal Arts, 5750 Clarkson University Potsdam NY 13699 315.268.3967 [log in to unmask] http://web.northnet.org/duemer http://www.grammarbitch.com/ppp/index.html ====================== Times are bad.
