From the listener's point of view

How fortunate I have been not that poetry has become
and industry but that the industry of poets had made
my life and my understanding more complete.
My first encouter with the poets of Perth
was a reading where I heard John Kinsella, Tracy Ryan
and Andrew Burke.
Since then I've listened
and tried to understand so many others
for this is a land of poets and poetry
and, perhaps by knowing its writers
I may one day understand not only this place
but a larger world.

never thought of of poetry as being an industry.
Frightening thought/description.
