Dear Listmembers, The Poetryetc list management team would like to announce a new project: "PHYSICAL INSIGHTS". PROJECT DETAILS The new project will provide primary source material for readers and students of poetry, of all ages. The aim is to produce an ARCHIVE of material on all aspects of poetry and poetics. The archive will allow readers to discover first hand accounts of contemporary practice. A selection of the material will be served on the Salt Education website currently under development. Contributions are copyright the author. But Salt will have exclusive licence to serve the material on its website. Participation in the project signifies you have accepted these conditions and are happy to have your text selected and served at any future point on the Salt web site. All contributors will be identified on the site. Links will be set up between related topics and themes, to build routes through the archive. IN PRACTICE Every two weeks or so a STIMULUS will be posted. Poets are invited to make a textual RESPONSE. The text _must_ be no more than 300 words long (but can be less) and posted front channel to the list: [log in to unmask] Posts can take any textual form (e.g. prose, poetry), but should be ASCII text with no attachments. Italics should be indicated with underscores, i.e. _italic_ , emboldening with asterisks i.e. *bold*. There will be a time limit on a thread of two weeks so that STIMULI do not run simultaneously (although if a topic or theme emerges this will not be artificially curtailed). However, texts will be selected and harvested from the listserv after about a month. WEB SERVING Works will be mounted on the Salt Education web site: http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Square/1664/education.html. SUGGESTIONS Suggestions for STIMULI are welcome from poets and indeed all list members. But to avoid a flurry of suggestions reaching the list simultaneously, we would invite people to make suggestions back-channel to Alison Croggon, Chris Hamilton-Emery, John Kinsella or Candice Ward. We look forward to your participation.
