>i've no idea whether i will be allowed to comment for much longer, or >whether this message will get through. What crap Steve. This kind of sneaky bullshit really gets up my nose. I think the actions which the list managers have taken are quite clear, and I really do not want to bore the 200 or so members who are not Kent Johnson with a protracted series of accusations and counter accusations, which are sheer poison to goodwill on a list - as happened very nastily on British Poets, and is clear in this very exchange. It should be perfectly clear there are other issues beside the on-list ones: including the fact (there are others) which I know for sure, that he rejoined the list gunning for Candice. >or was kent hounded from poetryetc [by the same people who silenced him >on british-poets] because certain people don't like his point of view >and think he ought not to be allowed to speak? Kent's point of view - as far as poetics is concerned - has been discussed seriously and interestingly in this very cybervenue. Kent's ideas about poetry are not the reason he was unsubscribed; it was his more extracurricular activities. Unfortunately, in his crying "victim" he has a very selective memory. It's sad that people are not always honest or deal in good faith. In this case, the lack is Kent's, not mine or Candice's. You can take that or trust or not: it's up to you. Kent will be peddling his version of the story elsewhere, and in backchannels - he has said as much to us - and that is his perogative. He will by no means be "silenced". He is simply not welcome on poetryetc. I am off for a couple of days reading poetry to people in outer Melbourne. Best wishes to all - Alison
