Burning Lines: The 2001 Australian Poetry Festival
Balmain Town Hall
April 6/7/8 2001.

Highlights include:
A gala opening, on the Friday night (next Friday 6th)
free to everyone, which will be a showcase the diversity of Australian
verse.

A special tribute to Bruce Beaver for his wonderful contribution to
Australian poetry by Craig Powell, David Malouf, Judy Beveridge, Jennider
Maiden and others.

The inaugural Judith Wright Memorial Lecture delivered by Dorothy Porter

The finals, on the Saturday night, of The Leichhardt Performance Poetry
Prize and, as a first for Australia, The Leichhardt Prize for Poetry on
Video.

The announcement of the winner of the $5000 Broadway Prize, a great new
prize for Australian poetry sponsored by The Broadway Shopping Centre.

And much more: One-on-One. Editorial consultations with experienced poets
and open sections. Readings, Workshops, Panel Discussions, Launches etc.
