Thom, I've been doing some editorial work with Dmitry Bulatov for a Russian/English sound/visual poetry -project he's put together to tour Russian - a lot of major international figures and cds and recordings as well as historical/critical information, etc. I'll forward your post to him, but don't expect a quick reply as I know he's buried in work. if you like I can send you names for the artists. I'd mail you a print version of the Visual Art book if you like, but it's in Russian. Loss Glazer and I and some others have been putting todether an international tribute to Philadelpho Menezes which should be up and viewable by then at http://wings.buffalo.edu/epc Loss can also probably give you some leads. DOCKS http://www.sitec.fr/users/akenatondocks/ and Boek861 http://www.fut.es/~boek861/ have a lot of info and I can give you some other names if you want to get into the international scene. tom bell ----- Original Message ----- From: "swiss@drake" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Sunday, April 22, 2001 8:51 PM Subject: Sound Art/Artists/Critics Hi, Thanks for such an engaging list. I am working on a project -- a 2-day conference with, we hope, an exhibit here at the art museum-- on sound art and artists. The heart of the project would involve talks by as many as 10 critics about various aspects of sound art --histories, case studies, close readings/listenings, and so on-- as well as 12-15 pieces (installations, web sites, CDs...) I could use your help with ideas for critics/pieces/artists to feature. All thoughts appreciated, either to the list or to me at <[log in to unmask]> Thanks.
