Sarah, all - i think esp. with 'new media art' (a bit ...... notion, because new media 160 years ago was photography, afterwards film .... than video ...) the creating, presentating and educating aspects are fusing. artists are (are they?) reflecting more the intended effect - esp. when the viewer should inter_act in a physical way with the 'piece' - i still credit more the non-physical interaction, where sights can be changed ..... concious or unconciously - and my thesis would be/is that in 'n.m.a.' there are 'other' possibilities than before - enhancing the 'unphysical' interaction - not only by quantity but also quality --- you are closer to the viewer and more important - in my sight - closer to - the center of - art.
