New Carlton Coal Mine, Barnsley South Yorks. There were two mines within a mile of the area.Old and New Carlton. My interest is in the New Carlton Mine. It had two shafts one decent and accent, the other for air. It also had a drift, from which all the coal was brought out. Can anyone confirm that seams worked in this mine were, Beamshaw, Winterbottom and Kent. Period around 1966. Thanks Barry [log in to unmask]
