I'll bet that your locomotive engineer felt a lot like a week end gold miner
I know who was using a small cat to open an old "adit" on the Nighthawk mine.
This mine is located on the Washington state/ Canada boundry area. The "adit"
that the young man was trying to open connected to a 500 ft. vertical "shaft"
that was filled with water. The residents of the small town of nighthawk will
probably be discussing the day that the cat was hydro-launched across the
highway well into the next century.
