Call For Papers - 29th Annual Meeting of the History of Technology Group of the Institution of Electrical Engineers


In 2001 the annual meeting of the history of technology group of the IEE will be held at the Chatham Campus of the University of Greenwich, Kent, England. The meeting is scheduled for the weekend of 29th June to the 1st July 2001. Offers of papers should be sent to the following address, and preferably should be received by the end of April 2001.

While contributions  on any subject relevant to the history of electricity and electrical engineering will be welcomed, in view of the historical significance of the Thames estuary and its immediate environs in the development of electrical engineering papers relating to the various industries and establishments that grew up along the banks of the river from submarine telegraph cables of the 1850s to semiconductors and computers would be of especial relevance.
