The Science, Medicine, and
Technology in Culture Program at Pennsylvania State University invites
applications for a 2-year postdoctoral NSF Fellowship in residence
beginning fall 2002. Field of expertise is open. The postdoc will teach
one course per semester: He or she will also co-organize (along with two
faculty members) an international workshop on gender and science to be
held spring 2004. This workshop will invite scientists to discuss how
gender analysis has changed their fields of research. SMTC spans the
departments of History, English, Philosophy, Anthropology, Women's
Studies and several of PSU’s leading departments of life, social, and

Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. by fall 2002. The award
carries with it a $30,000 per year stipend plus benefits. Interested
candidates should send c.v., a brief statement of research and teaching
interests (2-3 pages), one dissertation chapter or article, and three
