CADE 2001 is the fourth Computers in Art and Design Education Conference,
and opens in just ten days’ time. It will run from 9 - 12 April 2001 in
Glasgow.

Taking as its theme "Digital Creativity: Crossing the Border", CADE 2001
will be opened by Allan Wilson MSP, Deputy Minister for Environment, Sport
and Culture, the Scottish Executive.

Keynote speakers are Professor Diana Laurillard (Pro-Vice-Chancellor,
Learning Technologies & Teaching, Open University), Professor Simon Penny
(European Professor of Inter-active Environments in the Digital Cultures
Programme, University of Portsmouth; Merz Akademie, Stuttgart and HKU,
Utrecht) and Walter Stewart (Director of Global Marketing, Education and
Research for Silicon Graphics SGI)

Keynote panels chaired by Fariba Farshad of the London Institute and Stuart
Cosgrove of Channel 4 will address the changing learning environment for the
visual arts, and the interface between education and industry.

A rich array of papers, presentations, exhibitions, forums, workshops and
visits will address the conference themes of challenging and crossing
boundaries and barriers.
